The Old Workshop
We will be open Thursday โ Sunday over second half of July 2025 (from 17th July) and August. Weโre generally transitioning into an events based space with fermenting workshops, theatre performances and pre-loved vintage clothes sales! Have a look at our Events page!
We will then have an Autumn Art exhibition from 30th October โ 9th November 2025 when cafรฉ will be open daily. We also have exhibitions in the diary for next year and more events in the pipeline!
Talks, workshops and evening hangs โ all in the name of community.ย If youโre up for partnering or want to host an event in our cafe space, letโs talk. Weโre centred around people, food, nature and landscape. We are now opening around events, please find out more here.
As a family who have been farming here since 1950s, we feel a sense of place.ย Weโre conscious of the inspiration of the farm and connections it holds. Tangible links with people of the past evident in the ancient buildings but also in the landscape. Weโre a small fragment of the story here.
Hereโs whatโs going on at Sullington Manor Farm right now. Sign up to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram to hear about whatโs happening.
This 16th century barn houses an informative and interactive exhibition on the history of Sullington and farming on the Down; the early 20th century lean-to extension has been converted into a charming and stylish, modern cafe environment. The main barn and outside area are dog friendly.
We also are able to hold parties for special occasions. Please do get in touch to find out more.
What to expect
When the cafe is open for events, we use great quality ingredients, sourced as locally as possible โ some food miles can be measured in yards, from the vegetable patch! Everything is home-made so allow for a bit of โwonkโ but come and enjoy cafetiere coffee, homemade cakes, light lunches and afternoon tea.
The cycle racks and fix-it station make it an ideal stop for the intrepid cyclist. Weโre passionate about regenerating the built heritage (you can read more about the restoration of the workshop here) and about supporting the local economy, including a great team of local, young people. Come and see for yourselves!
